The process of separating biomass after fermentation (e.g. organic acids)

After fermentation, the decanter centrifuge separates the fungus mycelium from the fermentation solution in a multi-step process. The goal is to dewater the biomass to the greatest extent possible in order to achieve the highest possible active ingredient yield. The multi-step counterflow washing of the mycelium ensures the highest possible yield of organic acid.
