Flottweg Doubles Employee Donations in Support of Adiuvantes-SAPV – Honoring a Longtime Colleague
As an internationally active company with strong regional roots, Flottweg has supported social and charitable initiatives in the local community for many years. This year, employees sent a particularly meaningful message of solidarity during the company’s annual holiday celebration — prompted by personal loss and in quiet remembrance of a colleague who recently passed away.
Alexander Wimmer, a longtime employee who was part of the Flottweg family for over 25 years and most recently worked in Industrial Engineering, was held in high regard by many — both professionally and personally. In his honor, his colleagues launched a donation campaign benefiting the local Oncology Support Association, which includes Adiuvantes-SAPV, the specialized outpatient palliative care service that cared for Alexander with great compassion during his final days. The initiative was sparked by the company’s dedicated “St. Nicholas Team,” a group traditionally active at every employee holiday celebration — and of which Alexander himself had been a valued member. The response across the workforce was overwhelming: employees collectively contributed more than €3,500.
Flottweg’s Executive Board felt strongly about recognizing this commitment while honoring their colleague’s memory. In response, the company matched and increased the total donation, bringing it to €7,000.
“The compassion and unity shown by our employees deeply moved us,” said Dr. Kersten Christoph Link, CEO of Flottweg. “Supporting this initiative was truly a matter of the heart. Adiuvantes‑SAPV provided extraordinary care to our colleague during a very difficult time. We are grateful to help ensure that others in our community can also benefit from this special form of support.”

Adiuvantes-SAPV expressed sincere appreciation for the contribution: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the generous donation to our Oncology Support Association. The funds will directly benefit our SAPV services,” said PD Dr. Florian Kaiser, Head of Adiuvantes-SAPV.
Through this initiative, Flottweg employees have not only demonstrated remarkable compassion, but also honored the memory of a valued colleague in a deeply respectful and meaningful way.
