How the Flottweg nozzle separator bowl works
The product to be clarified or separated enters the interior of the bowl via a stationary inlet pipe. Once in the bowl, larger solid particles are immediately separated by centrifugal force. Any remaining finer solids are separated as they flow through the disc stack. The bowl is designed in such a way that it offers the largest possible clarification surface area despite its compact and robust design. Flottweg has further optimized the flow conditions within the bowl. This leads to efficient solids separation in clarification processes and maximum separation efficiency when fractionating solids of different particle sizes. The separated solids are continuously discharged through the nozzles on the edge of the bowl.
Washing and recirculation system optionally available
At the customer's request, the nozzle separator bowl can be equipped with a washing or recirculation device. This device is characterized by a contactless and thus maintenance-free sealing system. This device enables process water or the already-separated product to be fed directly into the solids chambers in front of the nozzle outlet. This allows the separation result to be improved and allows product fluctuations to be leveled in a process-safe manner..

The design of the nozzle separator bowl is characterized by innovation and sustainability. All components of the separator that come into contact with the product are made of high-quality stainless steel. The separator bowl has innovative solids chambers that enable deposit-free concentrate discharge. No deposits remain and dead spaces are avoided. At the same time, the innovative bowl design ensures low energy consumption. The discharge from the lower outlet is directed in such a way that it supports the bowl in its rotational movement. Thus, the separator requires less drive energy.
