Flottweg Breaks Ground on New Logistics Facility at Plant 2
Flottweg SE has launched another forward‑looking project at its Vilsbiburg headquarters: the construction of a new logistics facility at Plant 2. The new building is a key component in further consolidating logistics processes, shortening lead times, and sustainably improving the company’s delivery performance.
Located close to the production area where decanters and separators are assembled, tested, and approved the facility will offer approximately 3,100 m² of storage space. The project will create a modern, efficient, and flexible on-site storage solution designed to support long-term growth. The new building will replace the existing off-site warehouse and reduce external dependencies as well as additional transport routes.
Strategic Step Toward Supply Chain Optimization
With new logistics facility, Flottweg aims to increase turnaround times, improved delivery reliability, and a more resilient value chain overall.
“Our new logistics facility is being built right where our value creation takes places,” explained Jörg Lengenfelder, COO & CTO at Flottweg. “Today’s groundbreaking marks an important milestone for Flottweg’s future and for the Vilsbiburg region. By consolidating our logistics processes on site, we reduce external dependencies and enhance our operational performance in a sustainable way.”

The new building is part of a long-term site strategy that Flottweg has been consistently pursuing for years. Flottweg had already invested significantly in the headquarters loation in 2021 with the construction of Plant 2 and in 2025 with the expansion of the Process Center — clear demonstrations of Flottweg’s commitment to Vilsbiburg and the surrounding region.
“We are bold, we are forward-thinking, we shape the future. Investments like these are not a means to an end —they are a commitment: to our customers, to our team, and to our headquarters here in Vilsbiburg,” added Lengenfelder.
Mayor Sibylle Entwistle praised the strong and long‑standing partnership between Flottweg and the city of Vilsbiburg.A groundbreaking ceremony is always a special moment for the community, emphasized Mayor Sibylle Entwistle in her welcoming remarks: “The groundbreaking for Flottweg’s new logistics facility clearly demonstrates the company’s continued strong investment in Vilsbiburg and the close connection between the company and our region. Construction is expected to take nine months, with commissioning of the new logistics facility scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
