Topping-Out Ceremony for New Logistics Facility – Flottweg Celebrates Construction Progress in Vilsbiburg

With the topping-out ceremony for the new logistics hall at Plant 2, Flottweg marked an important construction milestone. Following the groundbreaking ceremony in March, construction work is progressing according to plan. This interim milestone was now celebrated on site together with all project participants.

The topping-out ceremony took place directly at the construction site on Baumgartenstraße. In addition to the Management Board of Flottweg SE, the event was attended by representatives of the general contractor, including the site manager and team, as well as Flottweg’s internal project participants. Members of the Vilsbiburg fire brigade board were also present, having contributed the traditional topping-out tree.

Tradition and Appreciation on the Construction Site

The topping-out ceremony is a long-established tradition in the construction industry: once the structural shell of a building is completed and the roof structure is in place, the so-called topping-out tree is mounted at the highest point of the roof. The ceremony serves both to celebrate the construction progress and to thank everyone involved for their work and commitment.

As part of the ceremony, Flottweg recognized the progress made so far on the construction project, which has been characterized by efficient and dedicated collaboration. In brief speeches, both the Management Board and the general contractor highlighted the positive cooperation on site.

Investment in Efficiency and Site Development

With the new logistics hall, Flottweg is making a targeted investment in the further development of its logistics processes at the Vilsbiburg site. Thanks to its proximity to production, workflows will be optimized, distances reduced, and delivery performance further improved in the future. The project is part of the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen the site sustainably and to make the value chain more robust and efficient.

Construction of the logistics hall continues to progress as planned. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2026.
