Flottweg Named One of Lower Bavaria’s Best Employers
Employer Award Recognizes Corporate Culture, Development Opportunities, and Long-Term Career Prospects
Flottweg SE has been recognized as one of the best employers in Lower Bavaria. At the “Best Employers of Lower Bavaria” awards, the company earned a place among the top three employers in the region. More than 300 companies originally applied for the award. The recognition honors employers distinguished by a strong corporate culture, sustainable talent development, and attractive working conditions.
For Flottweg, the award is a special validation of its long-term approach. As an internationally active family-owned company headquartered in Vilsbiburg, Flottweg combines challenging work with long-term job security, diverse development opportunities, and a corporate culture built on trust, personal responsibility, and collaboration.
“We are truly honored to receive this recognition,” says Dr. Kersten Christoph Link, CEO of Flottweg SE. “Being ranked among the best employers in Lower Bavaria shows that our values and our approach to collaboration are recognized beyond the boundaries of our company. Above all, however, this award is a recognition of our employees. Their dedication, expertise, and commitment are what make Flottweg the company it is today.”
COO/CTO Jörg Lengenfelder and CFO Nadine Andree with First Mayor Sibylle EntwistleOne observation from the selection process captures Flottweg’s culture particularly well: “Every employee acts as if it were their own company.” This sense of ownership, combined with teamwork, technical excellence, and mutual respect, shapes day-to-day collaboration throughout the organization.
Flottweg particularly impressed the jury with its long-term approach to employee development, low turnover rate, broad range of training opportunities, and strong focus on internal career advancement. Many specialists and managers began their careers as apprentices at Flottweg and have since advanced within the company. In addition, Flottweg continuously invests in employee development through the Flottweg Academy, individualized development programs, and regular performance and development discussions. Flexible working hours, comprehensive employee benefits, and a modern working environment further complement the offering.
The award ceremony took place at Metten Abbey. The laudatory speech for Flottweg was delivered by Sibylle Entwistle, First Mayor of the City of Vilsbiburg, who emphasized the company’s importance as an employer in the region. “At Flottweg, people are given the freedom to develop their own solutions and take responsibility for the results. When employees see that their experience matters and that their ideas can make a difference, they grow through their responsibilities,” said Entwistle during her speech. She also highlighted the company’s long-term focus: “Quality and expertise take priority over short-term success. Those who perform, want to shape the future, and take responsibility will find many opportunities open to them.”
As an internationally successful family-owned company with deep roots in Lower Bavaria, approximately 1,000 employees at its Vilsbiburg headquarters and around 100 apprentices, interns, and working students, Flottweg is one of the region’s leading employers and training providers. At the same time, the company continues to invest in the site, creating long-term opportunities for the region. Flottweg’s corporate culture is characterized by teamwork, technical excellence, and mutual respect. Employees are encouraged to take ownership, contribute their own ideas, and actively help shape the company’s future development.
Mayor Entwistle also acknowledged this unique corporate culture. According to her, Flottweg successfully combines the down-to-earth character of a Lower Bavarian mid-sized company with the opportunities of an internationally successful business. Employees are given responsibility, opportunities for development, and long-term career prospects. “A good employer creates opportunities for people and, in doing so, strengthens our city as well,” said Entwistle.
“We view this award as both a recognition and a motivation,” adds Link. “We will continue investing in our employees, their development, and the Vilsbiburg site. Sustainable business success is built where people take responsibility, have opportunities to grow, and enjoy working together.”
